How do electrical rates stack up?

Tim Sheehan of the Fresno Bee put together this interactive map of how utility rates stack up.

How much your power bill costs depends on where you live and how much energy you use. A sampling of summer electricity rates for single-family homes in California and the southwest shows that Valley residents may face some of the highest bills when electricity use soars in the summertime. Calculations are for monthly power use of 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 or 3,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per month.
