Gas Assistance Fund

The Gas Assistance (GAF) helps low-income customers in the community who are having difficulty paying their gas bills.  United Way of Greater Los Angeles works with about 100 nonprofit, community based organizations to help distribute funds to qualified customers of The Gas Company.  Income eligibility criteria are the same as for CARE.

You may already qualify if you receive benefits from any of the following programs:

  • Medi-Cal
  • TANF (AFDC)
  • Food Stamps
  • WIC
  • Healthy Families Category A & B
  • SSI
  • LIHEAP
  • NSL Free Lunch Program
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
  • Head Start Income Eligible (Tribal Only)
  • This year, the program offers a one-time pledge up to $100.  The program is financed through customer contributions, which are then matched by the utility company.
