Telecom and Regulatory Attorney
asalas@turn.org

Ashley Salas joined TURN in September 2016 as a Telecommunications Staff Attorney in the San Diego office. She will be representing customers in CPUC proceedings where TURN is advocating for stronger consumer protections in the changing telecom industry, and demanding fair rates for basic essential services.

Prior to joining TURN, Ms. Salas was a solo practitioner with a general practice. She leapt at the opportunity to join TURN after a client sought her advice following a utility shut-off; fortunately, after some phone calls and negotiations, the utility service was restored. She has a strong passion for public interest work, which previously led her to complete internships with various government agencies and advocacy organizations, including an internship for the Hon. John A. Houston of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Ms. Salas received a BA from the University of California at Berkeley, and a JD cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Global Conservation Force, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving wildlife through an integrated approach involving education, community outreach, and conservation efforts.
