Katy Morsony joined TURN as staff attorney in September of 2018. An experienced litigator, Katy will be representing consumers in key energy cases at the CPUC, including wildfire safety, electric vehicle charging and renewable resource issues, working closely with the rest of TURN’s energy team to put consumer interests first.

Katy was previously an associate at Buchalter, LLP, where she represented large energy consumers in rate cases and energy policy proceedings at the Commission. She has also been a legal intern at the Center for Democracy and Technology and a Congressional Liaison at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington D.C. Now a resident of Oakland, Katy serves on the board of her local neighborhood association.

Katy said, “I grew up in a tradition of public service, and am thrilled to be returning to that tradition as part of TURN. TURN’s work to provide all consumers with access to basic necessities makes a huge difference in diverse communities throughout California, and the policies TURN advocates for have enormous impacts all across the state and beyond.”

Katy holds a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science from Emory University.
