Marcel Hawiger

Marcel Hawiger joined TURN in August of 1998, and has represented residential consumer interests in numerous energy proceedings at the California Public Utilities Commission, including cases related to utility capital investments and profit levels, demand-side management and distributed energy programs, and both renewable and conventional energy procurement proceedings.

Prior to joining TURN, Hawiger worked with farmworker legal services and a housing discrimination non-profit, and he worked as a hydrogeologist prior to law school. Hawiger obtained his J.D. from New York University and has earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology and Environmental Engineering.
